Taffy another one of our FeLV positive cats is a beautiful black and white bobtail who likes to take things pretty slow. She’s in no great hurry to get anywhere – except perhaps your lap for some love or her hammock. If you want a relaxed companion; someone to kick back and cuddle with after a hard day’s work, she’s the cat for you. The positive IFA and ELISA tests indicate that the patient has a persistent, progressive FeLV infection. Unfortunately, this means that they are likely to become sick due to eto illness related FeLV infection and are likely to have a shortened lifespan. There is no way to predict when and if they will become sick.
Purina one kitten chow ***How do I keep my FeLV cat healthy? ❖ Keep cats indoors. ❖ Don’t allow your cats to interact with cats that are unknown to you and could carry disease. ❖ Get regular examinations every 6 months by a veterinarian. ❖ Keep your cat up-to-date on routine vaccinations and preventives (such as parasite medications). ❖ Bring your cat to the veterinarian as soon as you notice he/she is not feeling well. ❖ Feed a high-quality diet.
