Ozzie is a handsome black and white bobtail kitty. He tested positive for Feline leukemia virus on his ELISA test but negative on his IFA test. He’s definitely a ‘people-person/kitty’. He’s just looking for someone to love, and adore, and play with. He’s very friendly, and love cuddles. Wherever you are, that’s where he’ll be! The positive IFA and Negative ELISA are discordant results. This could mean that the patient is an immune carrier, has a focal infection (localized), or a transient viremia. He is less likely to become sick or infectious to other cats at this time. However, at any point his regressive infection could become progressive: the outcome is unpredictable.
Purina one indoor advantage adult catfood. ***How do I keep my FeLV cat healthy? ❖ Keep cats indoors. ❖ Don’t allow your cats to interact with cats that are unknown to you and could carry disease. ❖ Get regular examinations every 6 months by a veterinarian. ❖ Keep your cat up-to-date on routine vaccinations and preventives (such as parasite medications). ❖ Bring your cat to the veterinarian as soon as you notice he/she is not feeling well. ❖ Feed a high-quality diet.
